We’ve just released our new Master Tour Mobile BlackBerry application to complement our widely used iPhone app. We’re making our new BlackBerry mobile app available for free to existing Master Tour users and you can download it now on our new site for all things mobile: m.eventric.com.
Master Tour Mobile is the portable companion to Eventric’s Master Tour – it provides access to your tours, itinerary dates, schedules, contacts, hotels, maps and more all on your BlackBerry or smartphone device. We’ve made significant improvements in our new mobile app – more information displayed, faster, improved interface, and in-app functional links to phone numbers and email addresses. The only thing you need to access your Master Tour data is to be an active subscriber (Enterprise, Single User, or Premium.) We are offering Premium accounts (read-only data access) at no charge for a limited time, so you can get anyone in your organization with a BlackBerry up and running now for free! To sign-up for a Premium subscription, please email sales@eventric.com.

Android, iPhone, and Other Smartphone Users
We are currently working on native applications for Android and other smartphone devices. Until the development of these applications is complete, you can access your current tour data through the Master Tour Mobile Site using the browser on your mobile device. You can connect to our mobile site at http://m.eventric.com/mobile.html.

Our iPhone application is still available for free to all active Master Tour subscribers and can be found at the iTunes app store: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/master-tour-mobile/id347364187?mt= 8.

This is a quick update to let your know that the sync servers were briefly unavailable this afternoon. Big thanks to those of you who submitted bug reports. At 4:30 PM CST we started receiving notifications and at about 6:15 PM CST the issue was fully resolved.
Even though the desktop application was displaying an error, there were actually no problems occurring with the data. Master Tour was simply unable to authenticate and connect to the sync server. Everything is back to normal so you can continue syncing normally.
For those techies out there – the issue was caused when log files filled up a hard drive on one of our applications servers. This was preventing Master Tour desktop from properly authenticating and it was showing up as an error on the client. We’ll be automating log file cleanup on that server so this problem won’t ever happen again.
Thank you for your patience while we resolved the issue.

Master Tour Build 1525 is available and adds several user-suggested improvements and fixed a few minor glitches. To install, simply restart Master Tour and you’ll be prompted to download the latest version. Due to adding some new data fields on the server, this is a required update to sync.
All known timezone codes are now supported in the dashboard world clock. You can also now enter relative timezones, for example UTC+6 or EST-2. This way if you prefer to deal with times relative to your home timezone, you can do that easily and Master Tour will do the conversion for you. The dashboard clock will detect just about any timezone format and display the correct time. Mary suggested this to us – thank you!
- The Travel section now has a field for confirmation number which appears on the flight travel reports. This was requested by Brett with the Steve Miller Band.
- The hotel room assignment now has a confirmation number fields per room. Thanks to Glen with Los Lonely Boys for the suggestion.
- The venue section was re-designed to better organize the fields and allow more space for notes. Thanks to Paul for this one.
- The ground notes for flight travel is now a little larger and allows multiple lines instead of just single-line entry. Thanks to J-Dub with Joey McIntyre for letting us know about this one.
- The “Key Contacts” section on the dashboard was intermittently showing the contacts from the previous day. Thanks to William for reporting this issue to us.
- The passport section now allows an alternate “Travel Name” for each passport in case the name of the person does not match their passport name.
- Export Templates now preserve the correct file extension instead of saving everything as “rtf” files. This is a feature that we haven’t highlighted too much but if you ever want to export data in a custom way, feel free to give us a call and we’ll walk you through it!

Thanks so much to our customers for all of your valuable feedback. We’re tracking everything, so if we didn’t get to your issue, don’t worry, it’s on our list! If you have an issue or are really stuck, please feel free to let us know. We will always try to prioritize and help with critical issues.

Master Tour Build 1512 is now available. Simply restart the application and you’ll be prompted to download and install the latest version.
Improvements in build 1512 include:
- Venue “Age Limit” field no longer restricts you to 18 and 21+
- Guest List is no longer case-sensitive when sorting
- A disappearing issue was fixed when moving dates from one tour to another
- iCal Dailies feed now properly displays the primary venue phone number
- Minor stability improvements
You may have noticed that our recent builds have been fairly minor. The reason is that we’re working on our first major upgrade to Master Tour which will be version 1.1 scheduled for a Q1 release. So we’re extremely busy working on some big-ticket items. In the meantime, though, we’re continuing to release these patches to help those of you out on the road. We hope these minor updates are helping to save you a few clicks each day!
As always, we track all feedback and try to address as many user-requested issues as possible each week. Please keep your ideas and suggestions coming!

Master Tour build 1486 is available immediately. This is a required upgrade for syncing. As always, simply restart Master Tour and you will be prompted to download. We recommend that all users upgrade at your earliest convenience.
The primary feature of build 1486 is a fix for certain dates past March 14 (US) and March 28 (UK) being off by one hour on the iPhone and iCal feeds due to DST (daylight savings time).
Due to the nature of tours, timezone handing is a critical part of Master Tour. The typical tour is moving across timezones every day. The crew consists of people traveling with the tour as well as staff at the home office in locations across the globe. We have gone to extensive efforts to ensure that syncing “just works” across timezones. DST awareness is another part of the magic that has to happen under the hood. Dealing with dates is surprisingly complicated but our goal is to make sure you never even notice it.
We’d like to give a shout-out to Dave (w/ Hedley) and Dale (w/ Norah Jones) for helping us to nail down this DST issue. Thanks again for the feedback, please keep it coming!
