The constant rain and mud didn’t stop the good times at Austin City Limits festival last weekend. It’s always great to see Master Tour in action, especially at such a huge event like ACL.
We met with customers Kings of Leon, STS9, Dave Matthews Band, Poi Dog Pondering, Citizen Cope, John Legend, and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band. It was encouraging to hear folks being so enthusiastic about the new Master Tour. ”I love Master Tour, it keeps getting better every week” said Justin Bausch of STS9.
We also met with two great companies that offer excellent services to the touring world. Access Passes and Road Rebel – check em’ out.

This weekend Eventric staffers attended the last Chicago show of Nine Inch Nails at the historic Aragon Ballroom. Fantastic show with an unbelievable amount of energy transferred back and forth between audience and artist.
While the show was historic/special/banging, we were really pleased with the user experience we had purchasing VIP tickets from our own ticketing system – MTDTicketing (soon to be rebranded as Live Access). It was smooth sailing from the initial invitation to purchase tickets all the way through the confirmation, instructions on where to pick up the tickets and guest passes, and billing confirmation. Its great to be able to “eat our own dogfood” for such a great event.
Eventric is processing all of the VIP ticketing for the NIN “Wave Goodbye” tour shows, probably one of the most sought-after tickets of the season. Trent Reznor has made an concerted effort to ensure that all tickets are in the hands of fans instead of scalpers and we are proud to be a part of that process.

About Live Access
Live Access (formerly MTDTicketing.com) is a web-based application that manages the process of requesting, purchasing, and confirmation of VIP, guest tickets, and other credentials for live events. Live Access replaces the manual processes and error prone methods used in the touring and event industry. Live Access is specifically designed to support the VIP ticketing efforts of major tours, significantly improving the VIP experience while saving time, reducing costs, and increasing yield for these valued ticket assets. Eventric charges a small service fee for processing each ticket request along with a regular monthly subscription for Master Tour.

Don Richards, Tour Manager for Umphrey’s McGee, stopped by the office today to go over some thoughts and ideas on Master Tour. One of the best parts of our job is to actually meet and see how different users are using the software in differing ways. For example, Umphrey’s has a particularly demanding tour schedule with extra emphasis on travel, lodging and schedule details. We email, chat and talk with our users every single day and it’s extremely rewarding (and sometimes humbling) to see which features people like as well as which ones are still needed. Our lunch meeting today was fantastic and we have entire page of new ideas.
Thanks Don!

Christian and Don go over Master Tour features
Our development team releases on a continuous integration cycle – which is a geeky way of saying that we release a new version every Tuesday. This is an ambitious development schedule but we’re going to keep doing it for the next several months until we hit our goals for version 1.1. Master Tour is currently out on the road with several of the biggest acts in the world and we are constantly tuning the software in response to user feedback and requirements. We are listening.
If your tour is headed to the Chicago area and you’re interested in meeting with us to talk about Master Tour features, please give us a call (1 773 862 4246). Come and hang out at our office or we’ll meet you at your venue.

There are 15+ bands performing at this years’ Lollapalooza using Eventric’s Master Tour to keep things running smoothly. Friday headliners the Kings of Leon are no exception. Paul and Brian from Eventric stopped by stage right to visit with ‘master of production management’ and old friend Brendan Hoffman during the show. KOL put on a great show that night in front of a crowd estimated to be over 40,000.

A big thanks to the Kings of Leon, Brendan, and tour manager Courtenay for getting us a KOL autographed guitar.
Temporarily on display at Eventric HQ, this guitar (donated by the great Avenue N Guitars in Chicago) will be auctioned off at the 2009 Rock for Kids charity auction at the Park West on 12/4/09.
